I. The Kur Bloodline

According to Sumerian lore, Kur lived in the black void between heaven and earth. Believed to be the oldest dragon in existence, he descended upon the earth and scoured the mountains from Europe across to Eastern Asia in search of others like him. Furious at his inability to find other dragons he cast lightning upon the land, scaring the denizens and igniting fires.

The people soon harnessed the fire, which brought them warmth. His violent thunderstorms caused them to seek out shelter and create homes, and the fleeing animals became easy prey for the hunters. Because of all this, they began to worship Kur as the bringer of heat, shelter, and food.

With a newfound purpose, Kur fled to higher and higher peaks so he could watch over his expanding following. This led him to the top of the Himalayas, where he was finally content with his view of his dominion but froze to death at the extreme altitude. Kur’s last act was to cast all his power across the mountains in one giant electrical storm, thus creating his fierce descendants, identified by their predominantly violet hides.

Kur dragons are known for their survivalist nature. They enjoy being in a crowd but are content in solitude. They pride themselves in the sharp angles of their thunderbolts and the sharp cut of their suits.
